Cocoa butter is the solid fat expressed from the roasted seed of the cocoa beans that is separated during the process of making cocoa. It is highly protective and acts as a water repellant. It contains about 5 IU of vitamin E per ounce. Cocoa Butter softens and lubricates the skin.

Emollient and antiinflammatory oil high in essential fatty acids, B vitamins, protein, and minerals. Very nourishing to dry skin. Contains lignans which are phytonutrients known for their antioxidant, antiinflammatory, and balancing properties on the skin. Used in skin care formulations to balance acne, unclog pores, and reduce ingrown hairs and skin bumps caused by shaving.

Jojoba Oil is actually not an oil but a waxy ester. It has a very similar chemical makeup to our own skin’s natural moisturizer, sebum. Because it is so similar, it penetrates very quickly and provides the same protection. Jojoba makes skin softer and more malleable. It is hypoallergenic and has been shown to contain have very good anti-inflammatory action on the skin. It does not block the natural functions of the skin. It is a good addition to bath oils because it readily disperses in water and will not leave a ring around the tub.

A very good moisturizer. It works by attracting exteral moisture to the skin and holding that moisture close to the skin, forming a breathable film to prevent loss of internal moisture from the skin. Like kukui nut oil, olive oil does not block the natural functions of the skin while performing its own. The skin is able to continue sweating, releasing sebum, and shedding old skin.
